Frameworks for the quality of participatory arts have recently been launched by ArtWorks Alliance members ArtWorks Cymru and Creative Scotland.

Quality frameworks are developing in different ways to serve different purposes. That is the main finding from an ArtWorks Alliance action group which is exploring the development and use of generalist frameworks across the participatory arts sector.

The group, led by Rhian Hutchings of ArtWorks Cymru and Chrissie Ruckley, of Creative Scotland, group is exploring the potential for collaboration between quality frameworks in Scotland and Wales, and potentially elsewhere. Learning to date is that quality frameworks have been developing in different ways to match the requirements of the sponsor. The focus for the framework for Scotland has been the needs of a funder; that of the Wales framework on the support of individual artists.

The two frameworks are published online by ArtWorks Cymru here and by Creative Scotland here
